The outgoing year 2012 has been difficult for Ukraine, PM Mykola Azarov said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The outgoing year has been challenging, but Ukraine has managed to fulfill very important points of the plan for national development," he said.

The Prime Minister reminded that today is the last session of the government in 2012. "Ukraine can be proud of holding of the European football championship. We can be proud that our Olympians became the eleventh in London among the strongest teams in the world, and the Paralympics - the fourth," the PM stressed.

In addition, according to Azarov, Ukraine should be proud that for the first time in the history of Ukraine, Hanna Ushenina became a champion in the women's world champion in chess, and 10-year-old Anastasia Petryk won the children's song contest "Eurovision-2012".
