
National Bank of Ukraine is interested in the development of the domestic stock market, head of the NBU Department for Foreign Currency Reserves and Implementation of Open Market Operations Oleksandr Dubykhvost told a conference "Ukrainian stock market - 2012", ForUm correspondent reports.
"The NBU really needs stock market, as we are interested in investments into the Ukrainian stock market," he said.
Responding the question whether Ukraine has stock market, he said: "I believe that it has, the only question is, what is considered as a tool of this market." So far, he said, the investment vehicle is the U.S. dollar.
Commenting on the prospects for the future, Dubykhvost noted that "the National Bank is enthusiastic about the next year.
"I think that we’ll succeed in passing a law on derivatives," he said.
