Agriculture in Ukraine is a pledge of stability and confidence in the future, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said at the opening of the XXIV International Agricultural Exhibition "Agro-2012," ForUm correspondent reports.
"Agriculture forms a considerable proportion of GDP. Ukrainian farmer remains a careful master who can work, introduce new technologies and produce quality products. Now the agricultural sector shows the growth rate. In 2012, the agricultural production has increased in 15 regions," the head of the state noted.
He added that Ukraine is one of the leading agricultural countries of the world. "Harvest of grain and leguminous crops is expected to amount to almost 46 million tons. From the beginning of the year, the country has exported more than 9 billion dollar of agricultural products that is by 35% more that the last year," Yanukovych summed up.
