During the next court session Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko intends to request that representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office serving as the prosecution in the trial over gas contracts from 2009 be disqualified.

"At the next court hearing we will petition the court to disqualify the prosecutors, one of whom is calling me a convict before the investigation has even ended, while the other is giving me ten years in prison. This is proof of the quality of justice in Ukraine," Yulia Tymoshenko told journalists after today’s court hearing.

Yulia Tymoshenko recalled that representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office Liliya Frolova publicly stated that a verdict should be issued sentencing the former prime minister to 10 years in prison.

"I want to publicly state that prosecutor Frolova, contrary to the law, contrary to their claims that the judicial process is impartial, at the last press conference said that I will be given 10 years and no conditional sentence. I want to use this example to demonstrate the kind of prosecutors representing the prosecution today in court - they are biased, bribed, intimidated and serving the regime," said Yulia Tymoshenko.
