Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned to draft a project on development of gasholders and gas production on the Black Sea shelf. Such commission was formed by the Prime Minister during the meeting concerning the infrastructure energy projects. “I want us to begin making one big project, including the whole shelf, all exploring components, production and ask you to launch it as a separate state program, by separate calculations, with the determined financing sources, including – the attraction of long-term credits in the world financial institutions,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted.

She also added that – this is a “very serious scale project which can have both a mortgage and state guarantees”.

Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned to prepare a relevant draft order of the Government setting out the terms for commencement of works on gas production on the Black Sea shelf and determining a list of responsible persons for preparation of such work.

“I believe, this is one of the most promising directions which should provide the country, including additional volumes of gas which the country lacks today,” the PM stated.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned head of the advisers’ group Vitalii Haiduk to study an opportunity of uniting the “Chornomornaftogaz” public corporation and “Ukrgazvydobuvannia” company to create a common structure for the Black Sea shelf development.
