Russia will undertake all efforts in order not to let Ukraine's and Georgia's joining NATO, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated.
"We will do everything not to let acceptance of Ukraine and Georgia in NATO, and not to let worsening of relations inevitably connected with this both with the Alliance, and with its leading members, and with our neighbors," Lavrov said.
At the same time press-secretary of the White House Dana Perino confirmed the information that in December the USA resolutely intends to uphold Ukraine's and Georgia's joining NATO Membership Action Plan, as it did during the trip of US President George Bush to Europe to Bucharest summit of the Alliance.
"Yes, yes, we will resolutely continue this process," Perino said. "At a forthcoming meeting of heads the Foreign Ministries of NATO countries "it is important that it is planned in advance," the press-secretary explained. "Therefore our President said: let's give our ministers a right to perform access to MAP," she added.
