Foreign Minister of Ukraine Borys Tarasyuk advises not to pay attention to skeptical statements of the EU officials concerning Ukraine’s prospects to join the EU and NATO.
“I wouldn’t pay much attention to these statements, as there are basic documents, which concern criteria of the EU membership,” said Tarasyuk to journalists.
According to his belief, none of high officials of the European Union is able to abolish basic documents of the EU.
“Everything depends on the elections, on the way Ukrainian people vote,” said Tarasyuk and noted that cooperation with NATO goes in accordance with adopted documents.
As a reminder, EU Commissioner Gunter Ferhogen said in an interview to Die Welt that all European states will join the EU for 20 years, except for countries of the former the USSR (Russia, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine and Caucasian countries).
