Ukraine is constantly improving its foreign economic activity (FEA), economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov said during the conference "Foreign economic activity: new ways of partnership between business and government," ForUm correspondent reports.
"Modern foreign economic activity of Ukraine is a significant component of the economic development of our state. I can say without any exaggeration that in recent years, foreign economic activity has become the locomotive that provides overall growth of the economy of Ukraine," he said.
According to him, the year 2012 was difficult for the foreign economy activity, as the domestic foreign trade developed in an unfavorable external economic environment.
He said that appropriate measures were taken to counter the negative effects and trends, and they gave the result.
The minister also said that President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in his annual address to the Parliament drew attention to the necessity of shifting the emphasis of economic policy to the internal factors of economic development, which requires the modernization of Ukraine's foreign policy.
Prasolov added that it is also necessary to inform the Ukrainian businessmen about the situation, forecasts and conjuncture on the world's leading commodity markets, as well as to provide not only information, but also financial support for enterprises to participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, etc.
