Russian TV presenter Ivan Urgant has once again apologized to the Ukrainians for his bad joke at the Smak cooking TV show.

He said this at his late-night talk show Evening Urgant on the First Channel on Wednesday, a Moscow-based UKRINFORM reporter said.

"First, I want to apologize and ask for forgiveness from all the people of Ukraine and those who were offended by my careless statement at the Smak TV show. Believe me, I did not want to offend anyone, I blundered out, without thinking," Urgnant said.

According to him, he could not even imagine that at a humorous TV show, where he "has never spoken about anything seriously," his bad joke will trigger so sharp reaction in Ukraine, "in a country that I love very much."

"Believe me, I did not put in this phrase that monstrous chauvinistic sense, which someone saw. And even more, I could not imagine a situation that could provoke an international scandal. Good night and see you tomorrow," Urgant noted.

As reported, Russian TV presenter Ivan Urgant on his Twitter page apologized for a bad joke, in which he "chopped fresh greens, like a red Commissar did the residents of a Ukrainian village," which he voiced at the cooking TV show "Smak" on Russia's First Channel.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed outrage at the joke of the TV presenter and demanded that the First Channel give a proper assessment of the incident
