Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed the decree on providing tuberculosis, HIV / AIDS and viral hepatitis patients with affordable medical care, Children's Ombudsman Yuri Pavlenko has told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The President instructed the Cabinet to prepare and to amend the budget, providing for the funding prevention and combating these diseases in accordance with the needs," Pavlenko said.

According to the Children's Ombudsman, the President focuses on the timely procurement and supply of essential drugs to treat patients in 2013.

"The President also instructed to improve the system of public administration in the field of prevention and combating these diseases and the mechanism for the use of charities and international organizations funding," he said.

In addition, Pavlenko noted that it was instructed to work out the nation-wide program on HIV prevention, treatment and care for HIV/AIDS patients for the period from 2014 till 2018 with the participation of these organizations.

In addition, Pavlenko informed that Yanukovych instructed to improve national targeted social program to counter tuberculosis, which was adopted in the current year.
