The state program "Affordable housing" will be leasing, not credit, infrastructure minister Borys Kolesnikov told a press briefing in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, he said that the information about the closing of the "Affordable housing" is not true. According to him, a national agency under the Infrastructure Ministry will be soon established, which will focus on the affordable housing issues. "The order has been already signed," he said.

He also noted that the structure of the program will be changed.

In particular, the apartments will be sold on lease at 3% per annum for a period of 13-15 years with the first payment of 15%. Deputy Prime Minister noted that the affordable housing will cost six thousand UAH per square meter, and 2-bedroom apartment of 50 square meters will cost about 300 thousand UAH.

In addition, according to Kolesnikov, the housing will be energy efficient.

According to official, in 2013, they plan to build at least 10 thousand of such apartments, in 2014 - 25-50 thousand, in 2015 - 50-100 thousand apartments.

Kolesnikov also predicts that "the construction will begin in May-June of 2013, and people will be able to buy apartments in autumn."

In addition, people, who want to buy housing under this program, will need to choose an apartment and prove a bank their ability to pay. According to Kolesnikov, "Oschadbank" will work mainly for the program.
