The parliamentary group "For Izmayil" of the Izmayil City Council will submit a draft decision on granting the Bulgarian language the regional status in the city at the 26-th session of the Council.
The group decided to submit a draft decision as at the previous session of the City Council the same suggestion was not heard by the Party of Regions deputies, representing the majority.
According to the head of the parliamentary group, the prepared draft decision outlines "clear and convincing arguments to grant the Bulgarian language the regional status in accordance with the law of Ukraine on national language policy".
According to him, the deputy group "For Izmayil" has also applied to the prosecutor of Izmayil Eduard Dzebko with a public statement, requiring "to appeal against the decision of the Izmayil City Council of August 15 on implementation of the law of Ukraine on national language policy in city of Izmayil, which provides for granting only the Russian language the status of the regional language.
