The trading volume between Ukraine and Georgia will exceed $ 1 billion by the end of the year, the Ukrainian FM Kostyantyn Hryshchenko and the Georgian FM Grigol Vashadze expressed their expectations at a joint briefing in the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, the ForUm correspondent reports.
Vasadze also said that the number of Ukrainian tourists coming to Georgia has increased by 50%.
In addition, the ministers delivered a joint statement on the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations resumption between the countries.
"Overcoming the difficult past, both countries keep focusing on the European future. Ukraine and Georgia support the European aspirations and the European choice of each other and confirm the commitment to build a strong and stable democracy and conduct further reforms to accelerate political association and economic integration with the EU", the statement says, in particular.
In addition, the document focuses on the energy cooperation aiming at "creation of an interconnected diversified and competitive regional energy market."
