Statements of Ukrainian power on intention of Ukraine to join NATO led to disintegration processes in relations between Ukraine and Russia. The people’s deputy of Russian State Duma Sergey Glazyev said that today in Kyiv at the press conference, the ForUm's correspondnet informs.
“In fact we again see escalation of disintegration processes,” he said.
According to him, such statements led to cancellation of those projects on defense-industrial complex which were between Russia and Ukraine. In particular he noted that Ukrainian enterprises lost many orders from Russian defense department, in fact the work on project aircraft An-70 is cancelled, and cooperation of rocket-space sphere is under threat, UNIAN reports.
According to him, such unstable political situation raises significant alarm of Russian Federation. “Special alarm concerns maniacal wish of Yushchenko to involve Ukraine into NATO despite people’s opinion and national interests,” he stressed.
He also noted that in case Yushchenko manages to realize his plan on Ukraine’s accedence to NATO, it will lead to worsening machine building complex.
Moreover, Glazyev noted that Ukraine should expect European prices for gas. “Ukrainian payment balance will worse much. Competitiveness of main export fields will be damaged,” he said.
Moreover, he considers it will lead to devaluation of UAH and twice fold reduce of living standard of Ukrainians. “All that Ukraine can achieve in case of realization of Yushchenko’s plan on Ukraine’s accedence to NATO,” he said.
