In an interview to Inter TV-channel The BYuT leader Yulia Timoshenko declared that she is ready to play a part of a mediator in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia concerning import and transit of natural gas from Russia.
Timoshenko noted that she had a great experience in conducting negotiations and expressed her willingness to help the President.
In Timoshenko's opinion, Ukraine does not have to accept all the demands of Russia in the negotiations related to the gas issue. She added that Ukraine had a strong legal position. In her opinion it is also very important not to sign any documents at the present.
On December 24 Timoshenko had established a special committee of experts in order to develop a strategy for the resolution of the gas issue.
