The government has approved the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and government of the Russian Federation on joint action on the construction of transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, signed on December 17, 2013 in Moscow, the press service of vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul informed.
The document provides that the parties in 2014 after conducting geological studies together will develop a feasibility study (FS). In the feasibility study will be examine the existing flows of goods and passengers and calculated prospective flows of goods and passengers; it will be also determined the type of future transport crossing (bridge or tunnel), the options of design and construction. Based on this feasibility study, it will be considered decision on the prospect of the construction of transport crossing.
The work will be coordinated by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The immediate implementation of the project will provide the State Agency of automobile roads of Ukraine and the Federal Road Agency of Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
