Changing the rules of operation of the electricity market of Ukraine may lead to an increase in electricity prices, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Changing the rules of operation of the electricity market of Ukraine may lead to an increase in electricity prices in the domestic market for all types of customers with advanced dynamics of growth rates for the population," he said.
According to him, Ukraine may therefore lose competitive advantage. "Prices growth deprives the entire industry of prospects, since the overproduction of electricity and relatively low price for it today is one of the main industrialized competitive advantages of our country. The main task is to strengthen this advantage for as long as possible," PM said.
