No one has been detained within the criminal proceedings over pulling down a statue of Lenin in Kyiv, spokeswoman of the Kyiv Interior Ministry department Olga Bilyk said in comments to ForUm correspondent.
"Shevchenkivsky district police department has not detained anyone within the criminal proceedings under the Article 294 (Riots). This is accurate information," Bilyk said.
December 8, about 6 pm, a group of unidentified masked men, holding flags of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda", used ropes to pull down a statue of Lenin on the Shevchenko boulevard in the capital. In this regard, the police opened criminal proceedings under Article 294 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
