A new customs checkpoint, Grushiv – Budomezh, opened on Monday. According to Ukraine's Ministry of Revenue and Duties, the throughput of the new checkpoint is 3,000 vehicles and 8,000 persons a day. The project costs 45 million USD, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

Experts note that the international automobile checkpoint Grushiv – Budomezh will be the most modern on the Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as on the entire eastern border of Poland. "The new checkpoint Grushiv – Budomezh meets international requirements. It is equipped with modern computer and office equipment, communications equipment and technical means of customs control," Ministry of Revenue and Duties experts said.

The government together with the Polish colleagues works hard to create the most convenient conditions for citizens to cross the border. According to the Cabinet, 15 customs checkpoints between Ukraine and the European Union are under reconstruction.

During this week's government meeting, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that by the end of 2013, it is planned to open another customs checkpoint Uhryniv – Dolgobichuv, located on the Ukrainian-Polish border. The cost of this project is 50 million USD. The throughput of the future terminal will be 4,000 vehicles per day. It will be opened in March 2014.
