Despite the recommendations of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the government will not raise the gas tariffs for population, MP from the Party of Regions Andriy Pinchuk stated.
"The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund stressed that although Naftogaz is a state-owned company, but it has to be profitable and has to sell gas at cost-effective price - this is one side. And the other side is our reality, if we raise the price for gas, then people will pay for gas by 40% more. I'm sure our people cannot afford to pay more now. That is why there will be no growth of gas prices," Pinchuk said.
