Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski states that if the observer status of Ukraine in the Customs Union does not provide for delegation of sovereign rights of Ukraine, then it will not contradict Ukraine's integration into the European Union, he said at an expert forum “Ukraine 2013. Agenda” on Thursday organized by the Gorshenin Institute.
Tombinski recalled that the strategy of Ukraine's foreign policy does not cover the issue on the Customs Union.
"This is really the responsibility of the Ukrainian President, government, Ukrainian politics and their priorities according to the Ukrainian legislation," the EU Ambassador said.
"If the observer status of Ukraine in the Customs Union does not require a delegation of sovereign rights of Ukraine in the bodies of the Customs Union, then Ukraine will remain a country, which has full sovereignty in other directions," Tombinski said.
