Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski believes that reverse gas supplies from Europe to Ukraine have a positive impact on energy efficiency and strengthening sovereignty of the country.
"Ukraine has begun to get reverse gas from Slovakia. This confirms de facto EU solidarity with Ukraine in this highly sensitive sector of the economy," the ambassador told the conference "Ukraine-EU: towards common future".
He replied that reverse gas supplies reduces the external pressure on Ukraine.
"That creates a greater energy independence of Ukraine. On this basis, the country's sovereignty is secured at a higher level, that is, Ukraine is less affected by external pressure," European diplomat said.
