The Lviv District Administrative Court has banned all mass events marking the Victory Day except official ones on Thursday.

“The court decided to forbid mass events in Lviv on May 9 except those that were planned as official ones,” the Lviv City Council press service cited Helena Payonkevych, the chief of the legal department, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

As reported, Lviv City Council filed a motion with the Lviv District Administrative Court on May 8 on banning unofficial mass events in the city on May 9, claiming that such events could be a threat to public security.

According to the city administrative services center, as of the evening of May 8, Lviv City Council had received 23 applications from groups for holding their events on May 9.
