The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supports Ukraine on the path to European integration and calls on Brussels and Kyiv to do everything possible to further rapprochement in the shortest possible time.

Such written declaration was adopted in Strasbourg during the plenary session of the PACE. The document was signed by 30 PACE members from different countries and different political groups.

"We welcome the commitment of Ukrainian authorities and the practical results achieved in the implementation of the December conclusions of the European Council with regard to Ukraine. This demonstrates the willingness of Ukraine to sign the Association Agreement with the EU in November 2013 at the summit of "Eastern Partnership," the statement reads.

Signatories especially note the fact that on February 22, 2013 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the declaration of Ukraine's European aspirations and the conclusion of the Association Agreement by the constitutional majority.

"The President’s decree on pardoning former interior minister Yuri Lutsenko and former environment minister Heorhiy Filipchuk also confirmed Ukraine's desire to fulfill obligations, including those related to the execution of rulings of the European Court of Human Rights. We look forward to further progress in the implementation of judicial decisions," the statement says.

In addition, the signatories note that "a critical moment" was reached to create the necessary conditions for the signing of the agreement.

"Therefore, we call on both parties - Ukraine and the European Union - to do everything possible to bring Ukraine closer to the European Union in the shortest period of time," the PACE members said.
