The Constitutional Court of Ukraine rejected to open the constitutional proceedings on the constitutional suit of 54 MPs of Ukraine on the re-election in five troubled constituencies, the CCU website informs.

In a message to media it is stated that at its today’s session, the Constitutional Court considered the question of opening the constitutional proceedings on the constitutional suit of 54 MPs on the official interpretation of the provisions of Part 4 of Article 15, Paragraph 5 of Article 16, Paragraph 13 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 104 of the law of Ukraine on the parliamentary elections of November 17, 2011 № 4061-VI.

The CCU notes that the Court rejected opening of constitutional proceedings pursuant to Paragraph 3 of Article 45 of the law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine - the Constitutional Court of Ukraine has no jurisdiction over issues raised in a constitutional petition or a constitutional appeal.

According to the procedure of constitutional petitions and appeals defined by the law, the final decision was taken at the meeting of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on April 23.
