Today, on February 26, at 9 am, the main department of Internal Ministry of Ukraine in Crimea received the information that a local resident born in 1972 was found dead near one of the houses in the town of Simeiz with signs of violent death, the press service of the Crimean department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported.
According to preliminary data, he had a gunshot wound.
Chiefs of the republican and Yalta police and an investigative and forensic team have left for the crime scene. Initial investigative procedures are underway.
According to media reports, the dead man was Kyrylo Kostenko, mayor of the town of Simeiz.
