In the city of Turkmenabat, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the laying of the new airport complex, whose contractor is one of Ukrainian companies.
"I am very pleased that the Ukrainian company participates in the project," Viktor Yanukovych said at the ceremony. The President expressed the hope that this project will be as successful as other realized Ukrainian-Turkmen projects.
"I believe that our fruitful cooperation on this blessed Turkmen land will continue and bring economic benefits to our nations and people," the President said.
Presidents of Ukraine and Turkmenistan took part in laying a capsule with a memorable record to mark the start of construction of the new airport.
