Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Knud Bartels thanked Ukraine for its contribution to the maintenance of peace and stability in the world.
"I want to express my gratitude to Ukraine for active participation in operations led by the NATO and other international organizations," he said during the visit to the National University of Defense of Ukraine.
According to Bartels, today, cooperation between Ukraine and NATO is at a high level.
"Ukraine is one of our most reliable and important partners. The Alliance appreciates Ukraine's contribution to the NATO operations. We welcome the readiness of Ukraine next year to join another operation - the "Ocean Shield" - and to provide its frigate, marine unit and a helicopter," the General said.
