In July, Ukraine’s wage arrears increased by 2.5% up to 986 million UAH compared with June. From the beginning of the year, the debt has increased by 0.9%, website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.

The State Statistics Service noted that the growth of wage arrears in July was registered in ten regions of Ukraine, as well as in Kyiv and Sevastopol. Accordingly, the debt reduction was observed in 14 regions and Crimea.

In particular, as of August 1, the high level of debt (more than 100 million UAH) was registered in Donetsk - 179.197 million UAH (in July fell by 0.1%, from the beginning of the year - by 10.5%, compared to August 1, 2011 - decreased by 22.1%) and in Kharkiv region - 114.373 million UAH (in July increased by 14.3%, from the beginning of the year - by 27%, compared to August 1, 2011 - decreased by 18.4%). As of August 1, 2012, the wage arrears in Kyiv amounted to 84.293 million UAH (in July increased by 10.3%, from the beginning of the year - by 16.2%, compared to August 1, 2011 - decreased by 18.1%).

As of August 1 of this year, the lowest level of the wage arrears was recorded in Chernivtsi region - 121 thousand UAH (in July decreased by 20.9%, from the beginning of the year - by 49.6%, compared to August 1, 2011 - decreased ten times), in Rivne – 2.083 million UAH (in July reduced by 11.5%, from the beginning of the year - by 16.3%, compared to August 1, 2011 - decreased by 11.7%) and Kyiv region – 3.501 million UAH (in July increased by 6.4 %, from the beginning of the year decreased three times, compared to August 1, 2011 decreased almost six times).
