The Verkhovna Rada of Crimea instructed the Council of Ministers to prepare proposals on the implementation of the law "On principles of state language policy" in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea until October 10, press office of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea reports.
"In accordance with articles 10 and 92 of the Constitution, the law of Ukraine "On ratification of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages", article 7 of the law of Ukraine "On principles of state language policy" and the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea instructed the Council of Ministers to prepare and submit for Parliament’s consideration the proposals on the implementation of the law of Ukraine "On principles of state language policy in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea" till October 10, 2012," the statement said.
The government of Crimea was also entrusted to conduct the explanatory work among the population of the autonomy about the main provisions of the language law, and local governments and district state administrations in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea were required to develop measures on implementation of the provisions of this law.
