The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has thanked his Polish colleague Bronisław Komorowski for successful cooperation during the preparation and holding of European Football Championship Euro-2012.

"First of all I want to thank the President Bronislaw Komorowski as a partner for holding Euro 2012 successfully," Yanukovych said in the press statement after meeting with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.

"During the Euro 2012 preparation and the tournament we were able to develop a joint staff, where all services cooperated to provide the safety of the championship and the fans movement across the border, including customs service and border guards. And I am sure that the experience that we got will be useful for us in the future, it’ll help to look for opportunities to work together and achieve positive results," the Head of the Ukrainian State said.

In addition, as ForUm correspondent reports, Yanukovych stressed that the tournament success depended on the mood of the fans as well as from the "mood of the citizens of Ukraine and Poland, which created a real fest during all days of Euro 2012."

"So I want to shake hands with the President Komorowski as a partner and as a friend of Ukraine and wish the success in the development of our countries and our relations," Yanukovych concluded.
