In 2013 Ukraine expects to get a new aid package from the International Monetary Fund under the stand-by program totaling 15.5 billion dollars, frozen in March last year, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in interview to Bloomberg.

"The IMF program is a barometer that reveals problem of the former Soviet republics. We are holding the negotiations with the IMF. We do not exclude the possibility of the resumption of financing starting from next year," Yanukovych said.

As reported, on May 28, Christopher Jarvis, the head of the IMF mission to Ukraine, which worked in Kyiv 21-28 May 2012, recommended the government of Ukraine raising tariffs on heating for the population. He recalled that this is one of the major obstructions in getting the next tranche of IMF loan for Ukraine.
