President Viktor Yanukovych firmly believes that representatives of all the parliamentary groups should join the work of the Constitutional Assembly, he said at his meeting with the Verkhovna Rada Speaker and parliamentary group leaders, ForUm learned from the presidentail press office.

“It is time for us all, together, to look at this Constitution and see, what we need to change,” the President said.

Viktor Yanukovych suggested that Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn discussed the work of the Constitutional Assembly with its Chairman Leonid Kravchuk.

Yanukovych also urged the Verkhovna Rada to pass a number of bills necessary for further continuation of judicial reform.

“One of the most pressing issues is the judicial reform. We cannot continue the reform without changes to the Constitution. Moreover, it is our commitment to the Council of Europe,” the President said.

“I would like us to work on this issue together,” he said.
