Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has proposed judicial services of EU to take part in the appeal on Yulia Tymoshenko's case.

"The consideration of the appeal is beginning, and we ready to invite judicial services of EU to study the materials and to attend the hearings to know the case," he told a press conference in Brussels. According to Azarov, "the matter is not about persecution of the opposition, but about supremacy of law."

"Everyone is equal before the law, including former PM. We are not persecuting anyone for political views," Azarov added and assured that Tymoshenko had committed a crime.
According to the Premier, because of the contract, signed by Tymoshenko, Ukraine has to overpay about eight billion dollars annually.
