The Cabinet of Ministers is planning to develop during 2012 about seventy bills and subordinate legislation to harmonize domestic laws with the European legal field, the official website of the Ministry of Justice reported, according to UKRINFORM.

"It is assumed that the development of annual plans for adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards will provide a systematic process for implementation of the commitments that Ukraine will take over after signing the Association Agreement with the European Union," Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych said on this occasion, according to the ministry's site.

The Minister said that the plan for 2012 was developed by the justice ministry on the basis of analysis of the priorities of the Agenda of the EU-Ukraine Association and annexes to the draft Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as relevant proposals of the central bodies of executive power.

In particular, in 2012 it is envisaged to amend the Customs Tariff of Ukraine and the Tax Code of Ukraine; it is also planned to draft a law on improvement of joint stock companies' activity.

In the financial services industry, it is planned to develop changes to the insurance law and the law on telecommunications concerning definition and analysis of the relevant services markets. It is also planned to draft a law on fight against cybercrime.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice was tasked to ensure the functioning of a national information network of the European Union laws. The Ministry of Justice will also carry out analysis of the impact of introducing in the legislation of Ukraine the rules that are governed by EU laws.
