Greece insists on simplification of the procedure of obtaining Schengen visa by Ukrainian citizens, minister of culture and tourism of Greece Pavlos Geroulanos said at the opening of VII tourist forum, ForUm correspondent reports.
The official believes that the current situation with Schengen visas for Ukrainians is not fair. Geroulanos noted that Greece as an EU member insists on simplification of this procedure. "We try to explain to our colleagues in the EU that the situation with visas is not normal," he said.
The minister also stressed Ukraine can count on Greece regarding its support in the EU. According to him, within the world tourist forums Greece has partially settled this problem. "We have discussed this problem and I hope it will bring results soon, so Ukrainians will get visas under simplified procedure," he summed up.
