Ministry for Emergency Situations has worked out and registered in the Justice Ministry new fire safety rules for facilities measuring up to 300 sq m, Minister Viktor Baloha informed.
According to Baloha, the Emergencies Ministry has taken next step to simplify business activity. The list of requirements, regulating the activity of more than 150 thousand enterprises, has been reduced from 100 pages to two pages.
"From now on enterprises working on 30 sq m of area must observe only five obligatory rules, while enterprises with over 30 to 300 sq m of area must observe only 11 rules," Baloha specified.
The Minister noted that a number of old regulations, set in 2004, were impossible to fulfill in small enterprises, and some officials of fire safety control departments abused the situation.
"I want to underline that such reduction of regulations does not mean disregard of people's safety. New fire safety rules are the result of thorough analysis of causes of fire at enterprises for the last five years," he stressed.
