Next meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian Interstate Commission will be held in late May, President Viktor Yanukovych told journalists in Zaporizhzhya today, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

According to the President, at his recent meeting with Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin they have discussed a number of important questions in the Ukrainian-Russian relations, including the price of gas and gas transit fees. “We are gradually advancing in our common understanding of the approaches to these questions,” he said.

The problem of gas trade will be an agenda item for the coming Interstate Commission Meeting, President Yanukovych said. The President also reminded that a working group lead by Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko and Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller continues the talks.

Besides, the President informed that he and Vladimir Putin had agreed to meet again on the eve of the May Interstate Commission meeting, most probably in mid-April.
