The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recommends canceling scheduled examinations into mass media activities by tax service for the period of parliamentary elections in Ukraine. The corresponding resolution on provision of unobstructed activity for mass media during pre-election period of 2012 was supported by 357 MPs.
According to the resolution, the Cabinet of Ministers must take measures to stop investigations by relevant departments of executive power and state institutions into mass media activities for the period of election campaign.
The Tax service is also recommended to cancel scheduled examinations of mass media for the given period and National Council on TV and radio Broadcast is recommended to cancel scheduled examinations of TV and radio organizations for the period of pre-election campaign and the very elections.
The resolution comes into force from the day of adoption.
