Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that Ukraine may apply to international arbitration in case of failure of negotiations with Russia on the revision of the gas contracts and lowering gas prices.

"Variant of court decision remains. We do not close it. If we do not agree, then we will have no another opportunity," Prime Minister said in an interview with Khmelnytskyi regional state TV and radio broadcasting company.

At the same time, he expresses confidence that Kyiv will succeed to agree with Russian partners and to reduce gas prices.

"Some ask, why not go to court? Well, we go to court, and the legal process will begin. Judging from the practice, it is at least a year. But during this year we will pay for the gas at current high prices while waiting for a court's decision. What if the court's decision will be not in our favour? Can it be? What arguments will we have then?" Mykola Azarov said.
