Ukrainian society is not ready yet for European standards of life, President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso told a press conference after the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv.
According to him, about 30 years are needed for Ukraine to adopt in full measure the European standards of life. "We are waiting for this with optimism," Barroso said.
The official also noted that the EC welcomes the economic reforms in Ukraine, in particular the realization of the anti-corruption law. "Favorable economic development can be carried out only with the help of business and investment environment," Barroso underlined.
