President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has submitted to the parliament some amendments to the law on Security Service of Ukraine, which provides for formation of a department on information security, Segodnya newspaper informs.
"It is not a totally new department," says unofficial comment from SBU. "The Security Service already has this kind of structure. We just reform it and increase the number of staff. The number of cyber crimes is going up, and we are developing muscles."
According to Segodnya, the activity of the new department will concern internet space. SBU officials will be engaged into thorough watch of comments on websites, notes in social networks and blogs.
