Tuesday, October 18, BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko was interrogated as a defendant on the case concerning the United Energy Systems of Ukraine, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vikttor Pshonka told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
He reminded that a criminal action was instituted against Tymoshenko, and a decree was issued to treat her as a defendant.
"The interrogation in presence of her attorney took place yesterday. I underline, she is considered to be the defendant in this case," the Prosecutor General pointed out.
Speaking about the second defendant in this case, Pavlo Lazarenko, Phonka informed it is impossible to extradite him to Ukraine, because there is no corresponding agreement between Ukraine and the United States, and because Lazarenko is serving a sentence on the US territory, which ends in a year.
