The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed as a whole the draft law on export customs duties for certain kinds of crops.

279 MPs have voted in support of the law, ForUm correspondent reports. In particular, the adopted law provides for cancellation of export duties for wheat and corn, and set 14% export duty, but not less than 23 euro per ton for barley till January 1, 2012.

Party of Regions MP Vitaly Khomutynnik declares that the decision of the parliament is based on the fall of the world prices for crops, which affects domestic purchasing price for this product. "It hits every farmer in the wallet," he said.

"That's why the parliament agreed with the Cabinet to cancel export duties for wheat and corn, despite big losses for the state budget, which make about 700 million UAH," Khomutynnik underlined.
