The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has increased the daily limit for the sale of foreign currency in cash to one person from UAH 80,000 to UAH 150,000 (in the equivalent), the NBU said in a letter on September 13, UKRINFORM reported.

The letter notes that bank employees are to register the name, last name and middle name of the person who carries out currency transactions in receipts.

In addition, the NBU allowed banks to buy foreign currency for hryvnias from the public through ATMs.

The document will come into force on September 23 after its official publication.

Earlier, ID documents had to be presented for transactions worth over UAH 15,000.
