Donetsk (eastern Ukraine) will comply with the UEFA requirements for hosting the UEFA family during the European Football Championship in 2012, Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov says.

According to him, the capital of Donbass is not a tourist center, so building high-star hotels in Donetsk is unprofitable. "Ukraine's eastern mega cities should hold more competitions, business forums and exhibitions, which takes the creation of an appropriate infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Donetsk. Thus we can build up our hotel industry. The government is working over this," Kolesnikov said, UKRINFORM reported.

Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko says the city is ready to provide accommodation for the UEFA family during group matches and quarterfinals. "To ensure accommodation during the semifinal match, we are negotiating with airlines the provision of 15-20 Airbuses, which would take the guests from Kyiv, as we definitely do not have time to build high-level hotels by the EURO," the Donetsk city head said.
