During the Summit, the President and the Prime Minister of Poland, Presidents of Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Acting President of Moldova, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will discuss common democracy experience and promoting democratic values. 

U.S. President Barack Obama will also take part in the Summit. 

The President of Ukraine is to deliver a speech at the second plenary session of the Summit. 

The idea of holding regular informal meetings of Central European Heads of State was suggested at the 1993 meeting of Presidents of Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany Hungary, and a number of leading European politicians on the occasion of the European Festival in the Austrian city of Salzburg. 

In 1999, Ukraine and its President were hosting the Summit in Lviv, featuring Presidents of Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. 

In 2010, the meeting scheduled for May was cancelled due to the tragic death of President Lech Kaczynski of Poland.
