Speaking to the media after opening the new children’s hospital in Cherkasy region, President Viktor Yanukovych said that healthcare reform going on now in Ukraine is similar to those in many countries of the world.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, one of the most important steps will be introducing health insurance; the next one will be measures to ensure "quick improvement of the quality of healthcare in Ukraine.”
President Yanukovych has highlighted the role of medical workers themselves in the implementation of healthcare reform. "I believe that any reform can be successful if supported by the representatives of the industry ... Clearly, healthcare workers should be doing it knowingly, and strive to ensure that this reform is carried out," Viktor Yanukovych said.
At the same time, the President said, the state must create "all the necessary motivation for it.”
