Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn rejects a possibility of holding parliamentary elections in March 2011, he said Monday in Kyiv, according to UKRINFORM.

"Let's be conscious. This year is difficult. Will we be able to hold elections? Obviously, we won't," Lytvyn said.

The speaker stressed there is no money for holding parliamentary elections this year. He urged MPs "not to speculate on the theme of the elections to please the people".

Volodymr Lytvyn said that by February 3 the constitutional commission should submit final remarks and commendations on the bill to the Parliament.

Last November, the Parliament approved the preliminary amendments to the Constitution relating to the dates of the next regular parliamentary elections, presidential and local elections. The bill provides that the next parliamentary elections should be held on the last Sunday in October 2012 and the Presidential elections in  Ukraine - on the last Sunday in March 2015. This draft law provides for all authorities to be elected for 5- year term .
