The draft Tax Code registered on Tuesday, June 15 in the parliament does not contain an article on the introduction of a tax on property, apart from land plots.

An explanatory note in which the introduction of a tax on property is stipulated was registered on Tuesday, but later amended, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

"The draft Tax Code also includes a tax on property, which is different from that on land plots (from January 1, 2012 on housing property of over 300 square meters and from January 1, 2014 on uninhabitable property). Taxes for individuals would be set per each square meter of total space at 2% of the minimum wage as of January 1 of the fiscal year, or some UAH 18.50 as of early 2011. The tax on commercial entities would be 0.5% of the value of the property," read yesterday's explanatory note.

However, on Wednesday the note was revised, and it no longer contains the above-mentioned words.
